Mayan Hash medallions are made with compressed trichomes (kief) and compacted with immense pressure and heat. Mayan hash is denser than traditional forms of hash, and will keep for longer. It contains the same active ingredients as marijuana—such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other cannabinoids—but often in higher concentrations than the unsifted buds or leaves from which the marijuana is made. Mayan Hash may be solid or resinous depending on the preparation; pressed hashish is usually solid, whereas water-purified hashish—often called “bubble melt hash”—is often a paste-like substance with varying hardness and pliability; its color, most commonly light to dark brown, can vary from transparent to yellow, tan, black or red. This all depends on the process and amount of solvent left over.
How to Smoke Hash
- Roll your Mayan Hash into snakes. Wrap them into or around a joint or blunt.
- Sprinkle it on top of or mixed in with flower in your pipe.
- Consume by itself on a screen in a pipe or in a water pipe.
- Vape it. Some vaporizers are specifically designed for hashish and similar concentrates. Others can handle both dried herb and hash.
It may be helpful to use degummed hemp fiber. This keeps your Mayan Hash from clogging the vaporizer innards. Additionally, this will make cleaning easier. Finally, applying a lower temperature will often give a richer taste. Some people like to start low and end with a higher temperature setting. Play around with it and see what works best for you.
